Volunteer of the Year – Brian Reeves
Mr. Reeves is a very successful director for Legal Shield and a firm believer in community service. One way he gives back to the community is by taking time out of his busy schedule to spend it with our at-risk students here at Elbert. Mr. Reeves has visited Mr. Clark’s classroom every Thursday of every school week since last year. Mr. Clark states “that his students really look up to him (literally, he’s very tall!). Mr. Reeves is an excellent role model.”
Mr. Reeves’ colleagues comment that he has “great empathy for others and uses his brilliance to inspire others.” These words are very true as he inspires our students weekly. He spends time with our students, he lets them know they are individuals with great value and helps them think about their future.
We are grateful for Mr. Reeves’ dedication to our students and appreciate all he does for us!
Tav – “Big Brother Brian is a good man!”
Zierre – “Big Brother Brian is very polite!”
Jeremiah – “I appreciate Big Brother Brian taking time out of his schedule to visit me. He is the best!”
Please remember that in order to
- volunteer in your child’s classroom,
- participate in parties or celebrations,
- or attend field trips
you MUST be an approved volunteer. Volunteers are an important part of our school family. To maintain security on our campus, new volunteers must undergo a Florida Department of Law Enforcement background check at a cost of $25. This is a one time tax-deductible fee for prospective volunteers. The application process takes two-three weeks. If you are already approved, you do not need to re-apply. If you do not know if you have been approved, please contact the Elbert office at 291-5364. If you have not been approved to volunteer and would like to, call the Elbert office for further information. Thank you for your continued support!
